#The First Post

The start of 2018 has been a busy, yet exciting time for the team at Goldfern Mobility. We bid farewell to our old website and said hello to our new and improved version. All in time before hitting the road for the annual Show Your Ability exhibition.

The new website retains our emphasis on showcasing our full product range and stockist locations. The key change is an improved look and functionality. Our stockists, located all over New Zealand, are able to view and order products through the site. Referrers can access product information and specifications with ease. Those using our mobility equipment can even write their own product reviews. A new feature of the site is this platform, where we plan to provide some worthwhile content to those that are interested in reading. We hope you enjoy!

Show Your Ability is New Zealand’s premier annual disability equipment show. The 2018 version saw us visit Auckland, Hamilton, back to our hometown of Palmerston North, Christchurch and finally Dunedin.

The event is a great opportunity to catch up with other suppliers and referrers within the mobility industry, alongside the people that use our products to make everyday tasks a little more manageable. Our Graphic Designer Stacey was commissioned with designing our new display banners and did an amazing job:

We were excited to showcase a few products at the show, including our:

Over Toilet Frame

Feedback received for the Over Toilet Frame was particularly pleasing. Since the 2017 Show Your Ability event, we paid close attention to client feedback and improved our product with modifications to the welding and the thickness of the main frame, and added galvanized steel legs for extra weight. Both changes improved the structural stability of the frame and were warmly received.

This year a suggestion was made to add suction feet to the legs, so keep an eye out for this at the 2019 show!

NEW PRODUCTS

A new initiative we devised especially for the 2018 show, was to give away a $1000 charitable donation. Simply asking people at the event to subscribe to our mailing list to enter the draw. The winner was drawn last week and Anna from On the Go Physio was able to nominate the charities of her choice. Anna selected Dementia Canterbury and Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson Disease Society Canterbury to receive $500 each. We’ll be happily making the donations to both organisations this week. Every little bit helps, so well done and thanks again to Anna.

One of the best things about heading around the country for this event, is meeting people that have found their independence again through using our products. Stay tuned for our next blog post about one inspiring gentleman we met at the Hamilton show. Until then, thanks for reading.
